WEAVE collecte la lumi\u00e8re au foyer primaire du t\u00e9lescope et la transporte par <strong class=\"d2b\">fibre optique<\/strong> jusqu\u2019\u00e0 une plateforme Nasmyth, 33 m\u00e8tres plus loin, o\u00f9 le spectrographe est install\u00e9.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/2&Prime;][vc_column_text el_class=\u00a0\u00bbpetit-titre petit-titre-txt\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<h3>Quelle est la mission du spectrographe WEAVE ?<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=\u00a0\u00bb.vc_custom_1690970457486{padding-top: 10px !important;}\u00a0\u00bb]L\u2019 instrument peut observer pas moins de 1000 objets c\u00e9lestes par heure. Les cas d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat scientifiques sont donc nombreux de l\u2019arch\u00e9ologie galactique pour laquelle WEAVE viendra compl\u00e9ter les donn\u00e9es collect\u00e9es par la mission Gaia (am\u00e9liorer nos connaissances concernant la structure, la formation et l\u2019\u00e9volution de la Voie lact\u00e9e au cours de milliards d\u2019ann\u00e9es), de l\u2019astrophysique stellaire, circum-stellaire et interstellaire, de l\u2019\u00e9tude des amas de galaxies et de l\u2019\u00e9volution des galaxies, d\u2019un relev\u00e9 men\u00e9 conjointement avec le radiot\u00e9lescope LOFAR et des quasars. WEAVE permettra ainsi de r\u00e9soudre de grandes enqu\u00eates spatiales.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=\u00a0\u00bbpetit-titre petit-titre-txt\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element vc_custom_1671179088046 contenu\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<h3>Observation de la premi\u00e8re lumi\u00e8re<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element contenu\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]En d\u00e9cembre 2022, WEAVE a collect\u00e9 avec succ\u00e8s ses premi\u00e8res lumi\u00e8res du Quintette de Stephan, un groupe de cinq galaxies, dont certaines sont en collision, situ\u00e9 dans la constellation de P\u00e9gase, \u00e0 environ 280 millions d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re de la Terre (Image 1 en haut : <em>Mode d&rsquo;observation de WEAVE pointant vers le Quintette de Shephan pour l&rsquo;observation de la premi\u00e8re lumi\u00e8re. Il collecte la lumi\u00e8re de 547 points du ciel qui sera analys\u00e9e par le spectrographe. Cr\u00e9dits : \u00a9 NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI ; Aladin<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>En effet, les spectres ont montr\u00e9 la fusion de deux galaxies gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sence de gaz \u00e0 l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur des disques galactiques de NGC 7318a et NGC 7318b et une vitesse de d\u00e9placement de 2,9 millions de kilom\u00e8tres par heure. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ces nouvelles installations, les observations effectu\u00e9es sont presque 100 fois plus rapides qu&rsquo;auparavant. Les donn\u00e9es produites sont d&rsquo;une grande qualit\u00e9, ce qui promet de futures d\u00e9couvertes majeures. WEAVE produit des spectres de r\u00e9gions en deux heures et mesure les vitesses avec une pr\u00e9cision de 12,5 km\/s.<\/p>\n<p>Gavin Dalton, chercheur principal de WEAVE, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab\u00a0La richesse de la complexit\u00e9 r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e de cette mani\u00e8re par une seule observation d\u00e9taill\u00e9e de cette paire de galaxies proches donne un aper\u00e7u de l&rsquo;interpr\u00e9tation des millions de spectres que WEAVE obtiendra des galaxies de l&rsquo;Univers lointain, et fournit une excellente illustration de la puissance et de la flexibilit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;installation WEAVE\u00a0\u00bb.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/2&Prime;][vc_column_text el_class=\u00a0\u00bbpetit-titre petit-titre-txt\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<h3>Les fibres optiques de WEAVE<\/h3>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element contenu\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]WEAVE offre trois modes d\u2019observation qui conduisent \u00e0 trois g\u00e9om\u00e9tries pour les <strong class=\"d2b\">c\u00e2bles de fibres optiques<\/strong>. Il y a\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2 MOS (multi-object spectroscopy) de 1008+960 fibres<\/strong>, pour l\u2019observation des objets ponctuels individuels,<\/li>\n<li><strong>20 mIFUs (mini integral-field units) de 37 fibres<\/strong> chacun, pour l\u2019observation des objets \u00e9tendus avec de petites int\u00e9grales de champ,<\/li>\n<li><strong>1 LIFU (large integral-field unit) de 547 fibres<\/strong>, pour l\u2019observation d\u2019une grande int\u00e9grale de champ.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=\u00a0\u00bbpetit-titre petit-titre-txt\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<h3>Une forte contribution fran\u00e7aise<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]En France, WEAVE a \u00e9t\u00e9 soutenu par le CNRS, l\u2019Observatoire de Paris-PSL et l\u2019Observatoire de la C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur. Le GEPI porte la responsabilit\u00e9 du lot de travail associ\u00e9 aux fibres. SEDI-ATI fait partie des trois partenaires industriels qui ont assembl\u00e9s les c\u00e2bles.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/2&Prime;][vc_single_image image=\u00a0\u00bb11118&Prime; img_size=\u00a0\u00bbfull\u00a0\u00bb add_caption=\u00a0\u00bbyes\u00a0\u00bb alignment=\u00a0\u00bbcenter\u00a0\u00bb][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=\u00a0\u00bbpetit-titre petit-titre-txt\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<h3>La contribution de SEDI-ATI : conception d&rsquo;ensembles fibr\u00e9s complexes<\/h3>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element contenu\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]De par nos multiples contributions dans la <strong>conception d\u2019ensembles fibr\u00e9s complexes pour grands instruments<\/strong> comme GIRAFFE, MEGARA ou MOONS, nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 sollicit\u00e9s pour une collaboration sur WEAVE. Nous avons ainsi travaill\u00e9 au co-design, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration et \u00e0 l\u2019<strong>assemblage des ensembles fibr\u00e9s<\/strong> LIFU et MOS du <strong class=\"d2b\">spectrographe WEAVE<\/strong>. Nous avons apport\u00e9 notre expertise dans le choix des mat\u00e9riaux, des fibres, et des gaines de protection. Et nous avons fabriqu\u00e9 et livr\u00e9 1 LIFU et 1 MOS.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Le LIFU qui est compos\u00e9 de 547 fibres optiques unitaires, de 170 microns de c\u0153ur. C\u00f4t\u00e9 t\u00e9lescope, les fibres sont compact\u00e9es en module hexagonal avec un r\u00e9seau de lentilles. C\u00f4t\u00e9 spectrographe, les fibres sont plac\u00e9es en fente afin de rattraper la courbure de champ.<\/li>\n<li>Un MOS qui comporte 960 fibres unitaires de 85 microns de c\u0153ur, r\u00e9parties en 40 torons de 24 fibres de 33 m\u00e8tres de long. C\u00f4t\u00e9 foyer du t\u00e9lescope, chaque fibre se finit par un bouton unitaire magn\u00e9tique compos\u00e9 d\u2019un prisme de renvoi d\u2019environ 1,5 mm surplomb\u00e9 d\u2019une matrice de lentilles. C\u00f4t\u00e9 spectrographe les fibres sont remises en fente pour recomposer la courbure de champ du t\u00e9lescope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]L\u2019ensemble a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u et assembl\u00e9 avec l\u2019assurance de conserver un taux de transmission d\u2019informations optimal compte tenu de sa longueur exceptionnelle de pr\u00e8s de 50 kilom\u00e8tres.
