HermeticFeedthroughs
Design of hermetic fiber optic feedthroughs
The KTRAV-M10 reconfigurable hermetic fiber-optic feedthroughs are suitable for vacuum and pressure applications up to 600 bars. They ensure a high level of hermeticity better than 10-10 mbar.l/s.
KeyFeatures
- From vacuum to 600 bars,
- 10-10 mbar.l/s Hermeticity,
- Broad wavelength range,
- Single-channel,
- SM or MM fibers,
- FC/PC or SMA adapters,
- Reconfigurable.
Upon the customer’s request, our production team can reconfigure the hermetic feedthrough so that it can be reused for a different application.
Indeed, these feedthroughs are built with an internal fiber rod that can be disassembled and replaced by another one with the fiber and interface of your choice when back in production.
These reconfigurable hermetic fiber-optic feedthroughs can be made with:
- Singlemode fibers,
- Multimode graded-index fibers,
- Multimode step-index fibers.
For fibers optics with a cladding diameter of 125 µm maximum, they are terminated with an FC/PC connector.
For core diameters up to 1000 µm, they come with SMA termination.
For instance, one feedthrough with a singlemode SMF28 fiber and an FC/PC connector can be reconfigured with a multimode step-index 400 µm core diameter fiber and an SMA connector. It can hence be reused for a completely different application.
